Lincoln County
Welcome to our Lincoln County forest web page. Below are links to two zipped KML files that display the county’s native forest stands in the Siuslaw National Forest (SNF).
The color scheme used for BLM forests represented specific forest age groups. Here, the color scheme represents tree sizes. This is because the SNF does not provide age data for its natural forest stands. The SNF stand data came in six size classes. The three smallest classes are previously cut stands. They do not appear in our Google Earth views.
We characterize the three largest stand sizes in a fashion similar to our BLM color scheme:
Red tint: Stands with the largest trees (Greater than 32″ diameter at breast height).
Brown tint: Stands with the next largest trees.
Green tint: Natural stands with the smallest trees. Note: These are still fairly large trees.
The image below is the link to the north Lincoln County KML file. Remember, you will be downloading the file in zipped form. Unzip the file into the directory you keep your Google Earth KML files and then double click on the unzipped file.
