Willamette National Forest
Welcome to our Willamette National Forest Google Earth web page. Below are links to KML files that display the native stands of the Willamette National Forest (WNF). The color scheme used (green, brown and red tints) represents forest age classes. We use the same age classes as the BLM forest views.
Red tint: Old growth forest (over 150 years of age)
Brown tint: Mature forest (100 to 150 years of age)
Green tint: Native forest (60 to 100 years of age)
The stand data for the Willamette was a big file so we broke the data into four Google Earth KML files. As explained on the website’s front page, down load each zipped file to your computer and then unzip. Once stored as an unzipped KML file, double click the file and it will open in Google Earth. When closing the Google Earth program chose save and the stand views will be available the next time you use the Google Earth program.
