Climate Crisis & Private Forests
Naomi Kline is right about climate change: it changes everything.
The evidence is overwhelming – we are in a climate crisis that threatens the future prospects of all Oregon communities. The questions for us are as follows:
- What contribution can Oregon’s forests make toward slowing and reversing earth’s warming?
- Given the ownership of Oregon’s private forests what can we expect for future management?
- How might Oregon’s forests and local communities benefit from the much talked about Green New Deal?
- What proposals make sense based on answers to the previous questions?
We understand many might have different perspectives, and we welcome dialog. What is your assessment of the problem and what are your proposed solutions? Contact us to let us know.
