We believe the Forest Service has under reported the amount of mature forest in the Siuslaw National Forest. Our goal is to document mature forest stands through a simple forest visit process. To that end, today we are releasing the forest visit toolkit. Correction: The FIA sample plots are spaced at 1 per 2,500 acres in western Oregon not the 1 per 6,000 acres as reported by the Data Viewer web page. Each plot is one acre in size.
